You can enter a new proxy bid at any time by entering a bid greater than your current high bid.
A proxy bid would make it more difficult for others to outbid you.

A proxy bid is the highest amount you are willing to pay for an auction item.

In response to other bids, the auction system will automatically increase your bid in the smallest increment possible (up to your proxy bid amount) in order to maintain your lead position.

To get a proxy bid you simply enter the maximum amount you are willing to pay into the bid form just as you would any other bid. If your bid is more than one bidding increment above the current high bid you will get a proxy bid unless another bidder has a proxy bid in place that is higher than the amount you enter.

At the end of the auction, the winning bidder pays only the lowest winning bid possible. That means that you can win an auction item at a price less than your proxy bid amount.

Your proxy bid amount is kept confidential from other bidders.

You can lower or delete a proxy bid by entering a lower amount.

Note: After watching hundreds of auctions and talking to thousands of bidders, we think using proxy bids in your bidding strategy works best for most people. It eliminates some of the pressure and reduces the risk of "sniping", where other bidders slip in slightly higher bids in the last seconds of bidding.

You now have a proxy bid.

You can raise or lower your proxy bid at any time by entering a new amount.

If you wish to remove your proxy bid you can do so by entering an amount equal to the current bid into the bid form.

You have a proxy bid of %s on this item. That means that the system will place bids for you in response to bids from other bidders, up to %s.

You can adjust this proxy bid by using the form above.

If you want to remove your proxy bid click here.
You can add a proxy bid to protect your item against other bidders by using the form above.
Place a bid using the form above.

You can enter the minimum bid of %s or a greater amount.

If you bid more than the minimum bid you will get a proxy bid that the system will use to bid for you against other bidders, up to the amount you enter. So if you enter a bid of more than %s for this item, the system will place bids on your behalf in response to bids from other users until someone bids more than your high bid.

Item Description:

(1) Soft Case Defibrillator

  • All of the units are Philips FR2+ Heartstart AEDs, model #M3861 A (photo #1).  They are 15 years old and have never malfunctioned (they self-test and we check on them monthly, as well).  None of them have ever had to be used.
  • Soft sided cases intended for being stored in a cabinet  We are not auctioning off the cabinets.
  • Each unit has an operating battery in it with an expected life until at least August of 2019.  The battery in most of the units will last well into 2020 or possible longer.  All of the units except 1 have a spare battery with an install by date of April 2022.  If the battery is installed by that date it should be good for 4 years from the date of installation.
  • The units require separate sets of defibrillator pads for children and adults.  Both the child pads and the adult pads in all of the units will expire on October 31, 2017.  Whoever purchases the units will have to purchase replacement pads.  The expiration date on the pads is generally 2 years from the date of purchase.
  • The units require an accessory kit which comes with gloves, a pocket face mask, a scissors, a razor, and a paper towel.  We are not auctioning off the accessory kits, so the purchaser(s) will have to furnish this for themselves.
  • The units come with a data card installed and a spare data card.  The card allows for the data stored in the units to be transferred to a computer.  Nassau BOCES has two data card readers that can be sent to 1 or 2 purchasers.
  • The units originally came with an instruction book.  I do not know how many instruction books are still locatable to be sent to the purchaser(s).

***Will NOT be available fro pick up until Mid to Late October
